iSteel was founded by Jeff Doran, who spent years working as a key account and product manager for some of Australia’s largest steel distributors. He saw first-hand how service and product knowledge were being eroded in favour of corporate systems and management layers that didn’t understand what customers really needed.

Recognising the gap, Jeff set out to build a supplier that did things differently. Instead of chasing volume for its own sake, he focused on becoming a true bulk partner, holding meaningful stock, sourcing directly from mills overseas, and offering tailored supply solutions that larger corporations couldn’t.
